Tasks

-Exercise the authority to proceed with work after a stop-work order after receiving verification from Partner-in-Charge or H&S team. -Exercise the authority to stop work, which will be executed upon determination of an imminent safety hazard or potentially dangerous situation (e.g., weather conditions, where this action is necessary). -Conduct behavior-based safety observations and coordinate internal Event Communication System activity. -Monitor conformance with safety and emergency procedures. -Serve as Asbestos Field Sampling Technician on assigned site investigation, remediation, and decommissioning/decontamination/demolition environmental construction projects and to implement site-specific Health & Safety Plans. -Monitor site conditions for asbestos clearance sampling. -Management of sample collection and documentation. -Ensure appropriate level of PPE is available and being used as required, as well as proper maintenance and sanitation of PPE. -Conduct daily safety briefings with the project field team. -Verify communication systems are in place. -Oversee that safety equipment is maintained; establish and execute decontamination procedures. -Collect asbestos samples in accordance with applicable regulatory guidelines and industry best practices to ensure accurate analysis and compliance. -Maintain records. -Complete and maintain required training, including:ERM Field Safety Officer Training ModulesCSST – California Site Surveillance Technician40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER - desirable8-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Supervisor - desirableCPR/First AidBloodborne pathogensConfined space and excavation awareness - desirableEmergency preparednessHazard recognition and job hazard analysisIncident investigation and root cause analysis -Collect and evaluate observations by others.

What You Bring

-2+ years of relevant experience. -ERM Field Safety Officer Training Modules -California Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) - Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC) or Certified Site Surveillance (CSST) Certification, current. -CPR/First Aid -Incident investigation and root cause analysis -Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area. -Hazard recognition and job hazard analysis -Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. -8-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Supervisor - desirable -Confined space and excavation awareness - desirable -California Department of Public Health – Certified Lead Sampling Technician or Certified Lead Inspector / Assessor. -Ability to travel within the state of California to client sites. As well as other states throughout the US based on business needs. -40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER - desirable -Bachelors degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, biology, industrial hygiene, or a related discipline; Or the equivalency of 8+ years related experience in lieu of education (2 years for each 1 year of education), in addition to the required years of experience outlined below. -Good with computers including but not limited Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CAD, etc.
