The Role

Overview

Operate cranes to lift, move, and position materials in a manufacturing shop.

Tasks

-Conduct pre-operational checks on the crane and related equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance. -Communicate effectively with ground crew, spotters, and other personnel involved in lifting operations to coordinate movements and ensure safety. -Inspect lifting attachments, slings, and rigging hardware for defects or damage before each lift and report any issues to supervisors or maintenance personnel. -Participate in training programs to improve skills and knowledge related to crane operation, safety procedures, and company policies. -Monitor crane operations closely to ensure safe and precise movement of loads, adjusting crane controls as needed to maintain stability and control. -Interpret load charts and rigging diagrams to determine load capacities, rigging configurations, and lifting procedures. -Operate various types of cranes, such as overhead cranes to lift, move, and position materials, equipment, and components as needed. -Assist in the maintenance and repair of cranes and related equipment, including lubrication, cleaning, and minor adjustments, to ensure optimal performance. -Coordinate with supervisors, riggers, and other team members to plan and execute lifting operations safely and efficiently.

What You Bring

-Ability to work at heights -Ability to stand and work for prolonged periods of time -Minimum of a high school education or equivalent -Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. -Ability to interpret load charts, rigging diagrams, and other technical documents. -Proven experience as a crane operator in a manufacturing or construction environment. -Attention to detail and accuracy in crane operation and load handling. -Valid crane operator certification or license. -Ability to work independently and on a team -Ability to lift up to 50 lbs -Strong understanding of crane operation principles, load dynamics, and rigging techniques. -Strong verbal communication skills -Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels
