Design overhead/underground electric distribution systems using utility software.

Tasks

-Coordinate with cross-functional utility teams (e.g., forestry, operations, construction). -Produce designs using Autodesk Utility Design (AUD) and ArcFM, incorporating GIS data and field notes. -Participate in occasional field investigations to validate existing conditions and gather design inputs. -Develop electric distribution design packages (OH/UG) per Electric Utilities’ standards and specifications. -Create material lists, construction notes, and supporting documentation for work order packages. -Navigate INFOR EFD for work management and tracking. -Communicate with client representatives, municipalities, and stakeholders in a professional, responsive manner. -Provide cost estimates and design metrics as required. -Work with industry leaders -Use PoleForeman for pole loading calculations and structural analysis. -Ensure compliance with safety procedures and proper use of PPE during site visits. -Apply NESC, NEC, and utility criteria for clearance, conductor selection, and construction unit application. -Review and QA/QC design deliverables to ensure accuracy and constructability.

What You Bring

-Proficiency with PoleForeman, AUD, ArcFM, and INFOR EFD. -3+ years of electric distribution design experience. -Experience with GIS-based design tools (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS) and utility work management systems. -Ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote environment. -Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Design Engineer) or technical degree/certificate (Designer) preferred. -Knowledge of applicable codes (NESC, NEC) and utility-specific standards. -Strong understanding of overhead and underground electric distribution design and construction practices.
