The Role

Overview

Design and support instrumentation & control systems for oil & gas projects.

Tasks

-Contribute to proposals, including preliminary scope, budget, and schedule input. -Participate in construction support, including RFIs, redlines, and field verifications. -Maintain quality standards and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. -Coordinate with vendors for instrumentation and control panel submittals and integration. -Collaborate with process and mechanical teams on P&IDs. -Support site walkdowns and data collection for retrofit or greenfield design. -Prepare and maintain complete I&C drawing packages, including: -Develop instrument datasheets, control philosophies, cause & effect matrices, and network architecture diagrams. -Specify PLCs, RTUs, instrumentation, and control system components. -Support equipment selection (switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, transformers, UPS). -Control panel layouts, terminal diagrams, and panel BOMs. -Collaborate with multi-discipline design teams to produce coordinated drawing packages. -Interface with clients and vendors to align on scope, schedule, and technical requirements. -Perform basic electrical calculations (load flow, voltage drop, short circuit). -Assist with electrical drawing packages such as one-line diagrams, area classification plans, grounding plans, and lighting layouts.

What You Bring

We are seeking a mid-level Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer. This role provides hands-on design and engineering support for instrumentation and control systems, with opportunities to grow into advanced technical or project leadership roles over time. -Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and familiarity with PLC/SCADA systems. -Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or related field from an ABET-accredited program. -EIT certification preferred; PE license a plus. -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. -Loop diagrams, ladder diagrams, and wiring diagrams. -Minimum 4 years of relevant engineering experience (oil & gas preferred). -Excellent written and verbal communication.
