Electrical Design Engineer

Overview

Design and develop electrical systems using Revit, CAD, and analysis tools.

Tasks

-Prepare electrical system design, reports, and necessary deliverables from concept all the way through construction documents. -Prepare calculations for electrical loads and panel schedules. -Leads participation in voluntary training opportunities such as vendor lunch and learns. (IE: engage and ask questions) -Code research to comply with building codes, NFPA, Energy Codes etc. -Perform overcurrent coordination studies using SKM Powertools for proper coordination of overcurrent devices. -Select and schedule equipment with limited oversight by Engineers. -Prepare Revit floor plans showing electrical device layouts, circuitry, fixtures, equipment, etc. with limited input from Engineers. -Layout fire alarm devices on floor plans. -Initiates coordination of space and utility requirements with other disciplines (PL, MX, Arch, Struct, etc.). -Meet with vendors to get exposure to specification requirements for different applications. -Edit electrical specifications to reflect project requirements with input from Engineers. -Maintain the discipline Engineering Calcs and equipment selections for the project. -Prepare one-line diagrams with input from Engineers -Participates in field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects

What You Bring

-Proficient in producing working CAD drawings and models. -Professional presentation external and internal to office. (IE: attire, engagement, meeting prep, etc.) -Proficient in CAD software, REVIT preferred -Professionalism: Appropriate written and verbal communications skills. -Ability to direct an EL1 or Interns on a limited basis. -Proficient in producing working Revit MEP drawings/models. -Demonstrates presentation skills through internal and external technical presentations and white papers. -4-8 Years of Experience in Electrical Design in Saudi Arabia -Proficient visualizing systems in a 3D environment and utilizing clash detection software (IE: Interference Watcher). -Understands and applies concepts of voltage drop, conductor sizing, etc. -Demonstrates knowledge of lighting, photometrics, and lighting controls. -Positively contributes to EXP and local office culture. -Holder of a degree in Electrical Engineering from a reputable institution -Proficient in electrical design software -Exposure to equipment room sizing and layouts during the SD phase. -Exposure and general awareness of risk management procedures to minimize EXP and client’s exposure.
