The Role

Overview

Oversee utility field construction, supervise contractors, ensure safety, schedule, and budget.

Tasks

-Manage activities related to coordination of field inspection and sign-offs for construction projects. -Maintain Safety Awareness and ensure all contractors comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures to assure a safe working environment at the construction site -Supervise contractors and make sure projects are being completed correctly -Execute work orders and inspections -Adhere to company policies, programs, and procedures as well as Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP), Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), New England Independent System Operator -Assist with managing the construction of electric substations, distribution lines, generation upgrades, and other projects in the area -Make sure projects and all construction resources are within the allowed scheduled and budget -Collaborate with management staff to resolve problems and coordinate activities with the Construction Managers and Field Construction Managers. -Work closely with Construction Managers & Project Team -Establish and Manage construction materials and review material plans

What You Bring

-Two (2) years of college is preferred -MS Suite Required – with high competency in MS Excel -Knowledge of NRA clearances and switching orders would be beneficial -Construction Project Engineer Background Preferred -Computer and Administrative skills -Ability to investigate and solve construction problems in a timely manner with minimum dependence on others -Knowledge of GPS Systems & knowledge of SAP are preferred -Applicants should have the knowledge, experience and skills needed to review project plans, specifications, contract enforcement, and applicable technical standards, OSHA and other regulatory statutes. -Distribution line work experience required -Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings and convey interpretations to contractors -Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in progressive related electric utility industry experience, with transmission facilities construction management -Must have current US Work authorization and valid US Driver License in good standing -Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills -Minimum of 5 years of supervisory capacity experience -Detailed work experience in electrical Utility transmission UV/OV & civil construction
