The Role

Overview

Carry out road maintenance, signage, drainage, winter work and operate plant/vehicles.

Tasks

-Driving vehicles including those with simple attachments such as tractors. -Operation of power tools, small plant and machinery. -Preparation, application, compaction and removal of soils, rocks, coated and other materials. -Participating in our winter and emergency response service on a standby rota basis. -Drainage works, excavation, pipe laying, kerb laying, scrub cutting. -Winter maintenance duties which include fitting gritter body and blade, driving gritter and spread salt by hand if required. -The erection and removal of temporary signs and barriers (permanent signs and barriers). -Prepare written returns including fault report details. -Installation and fixing of temporary/permanent road furniture.

What You Bring

-A minimum of two years previous experience in Roadworks or similar construction environment -Solid understanding of Health & Safety Regulations and a Commitment to safe working practices -Willingness to undertake training and achieve competency across key aspects of the role -A Full UK Driving Licence is essential; LGV Class C Licence is desirable -Valid certifications - 12D 12A/B Traffic Management, New Roads & Street Works Act (NRSWA) Chainsaw, Excavator are desirable -Ability to work in demanding outdoor conditions -Experience operating small plant machinery and equipment
