Estimating Engineer 1

Overview

Assist with cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and vendor coordination for construction projects.

Tasks

-Reads and outlines project specifications. -Maintains an audit trail of the quantity survey from estimate to estimate. -Supports the distribution of plans and specifications to vendors/subcontractors. -Supports vendor/subcontractor pricing/bid solicitation and coordination. -Works collaboratively and creates relationships with a variety of stakeholders, such as project team members, subcontractors, vendors and clients. -Performs quantity survey of materials shown on project plans.

What You Bring

-Proficiency in MS Office. -Proficiency in construction estimating software. -Knowledge of the means and methods of construction management. -Ability to learn quantity surveys. -Entry level construction experience. -Occasional activity: Standing, Walking, Bending, Climbing, Reaching above Shoulder, Pushing, Pulling -Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications. -Gains self-perform estimating experience. -Proficiency in required construction technology. -May require periods of overnight travel -Knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work. -Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs -Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner. -Frequent activity: Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen -Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally. -Knowledge of Lean process and philosophy. -Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field (Preferred). -In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered. -Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds -Communication skills, verbal and written.
