The Role

Overview

Design and manage highway projects using MicroStation/Inroads and OpenRoads

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Develop and refine 3D models, alignments, profiles, corridors, and cross-sections for transportation projects. -Contribute to the preparation of project reports, presentations, and client communications to ensure effective project delivery. -Mentor and train junior engineers in highway geometry and the effective use of Modeling software offering guidance and support to build their technical skills. -Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including engineers, surveyors, planners,and project managers, to integrate design elements into comprehensive project plans. -Prepare detailed drawings, plans, and technical specifications for roadway, highway, and transit infrastructure projects. -Stay current with industry trends, software advancements, and best practices related to OpenRoads, applying new knowledge to enhance project outcomes. -Conduct thorough design reviews, constructability assessments, and quality control checks to ensure designs align with project objectives and regulatory standards.

What You Bring

-Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite. -P.E. License in Pennsylvania Strong proficiency in MicroStation Inroads with Bentley’s OpenRoads Designer being a plus -Stormwater management and Erosion and Sedimentation Control design and permitting a plus -Familiarity with design standards and guidelines, including PennDOT, AASHTO, and FHWA. -Traffic signal and ITS design experience is a plus -A minimum of 6 years of experience in transportation engineering, with a strong focus on roadway design, alignment optimization, and geometric design. -Experience with signing, pavement marking and traffic control plan development -Professional Licensure and Society Memberships -Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field. Master’s Degree is a plus -Excellent communication skills, with proven teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
