Tasks

-Audit network component hardware and software changes. -Support network documentation as well as establishing and maintaining User accounts, User access privileges and security policies. -Support planning, installing, configuring, testing, operating, analyzing and documenting duties. -Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. -Support troubleshooting of common network equipment. -Support integration of new technologies into existing high and low speed networks. -Document common network equipment configurations and settings. -Support configuration of common network equipment for operation. -Identify and understand the speech of another person. -Perform scheduled network status checks, troubleshooting and problem resolution. -Support planning and implementation of high and low speed LAN connections and designs. -Support installation and troubleshooting of fiber cross connects to existing backbone cabling. -Collaborate with Security System Technicians on connectivity requirements and procedures. -Support planning and implementation of VPN solutions to include site-to-site VPN's built between hardware based firewalls. -Support management of hardware firmware revisions to include testing latest firmware revisions on current configurations and deploying when deemed appropriate -Support installation and troubleshooting of common enterprise class network equipment to include firewalls, routers, and switches. -Support establishing and maintaining User accounts, User access privileges and security policies. -Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction. -Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weakness.

What You Bring

-Experience working independently and with multidisciplinary teams. -Current certification in one of the following: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CompTIA Network+. -Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. -Some experience implementing various network technologies and end-user support. -Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level ll or higher (e.g., Sec+). -Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint. -Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. -Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. -Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives. -Associates Degree and 4+ Years of progressive experience or -Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; Active Top-Secret/SCI clearance required. -Entry level familiarity with integration of industrial controls with physical and virtual networks. -Bachelor's Degree and 0+ Years of progressive experience or -Familiarity with Information Assurance concepts and requirements. -Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time. -Some experience in the use of routing protocols and switching technologies, LAN/WAN medias and protocols, and firewall configuration and protocols. -Strong communications, time management, and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives. -Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.
