Overview
Design and engineer high‑voltage substations for utility clients in North America.

Tasks
-Conduct detailed design of substations, including switchyard layouts, sections, grounding plan/details, cable routing, AC/DC distribution, major equipment specifications, single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, marking, design calculations, etc. -Perform engineering studies such as power flow, short circuit, grounding, lightning protection, insulation coordination, TRV, cable ampacity, rigid and flexible bus, lighting, etc. -Mentor and support junior Engineers. -Provide technical support for procurement, construction and commissioning. -Drafting work may be required in order to complete deliverables. -Prepare technical specifications for major equipment, construction, and testing & commissioning. -Follow internal QA/QC procedures to deliver high quality engineering service to clients. -Coordinate with other disciplines during project execution to solve challenging technical issues. -Conduct site visits to verify existing installation, define project scope, prepare for detailed design, and provide construction site supports as required. -Assist in preparing proposals, project plans and estimates.

What You Bring
-Proven knowledge in Civil/Structural and P&C is an asset. -Excellent computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and MicroStation. -Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (specialization in Power Systems) with -Valid driver’s license. -Minimum 6 years of proven direct detailed design and engineering experience related to high voltage substations for utilities in North America. -Demonstrated capability to efficiently handle multiple tasks simultaneously. -Professional Engineer registration (P.Eng) required. -Experience in PSSE, PSCAD, ETAP, CDEGS, WinIGS, MathCAD is an asset. -Effective interpersonal skills (written, verbal) are essential to interact with multi-disciplinary teams, suppliers, sub-consultants and build client relationships.
