Tasks

-Conduct site walks and document project progress through photos and reports -Monitor work for compliance with plans and specifications -Support daily safety inspections and hazard identification -Assist with layout and surveying activities as needed -Help track and document daily activities, labor, and equipment usage -Support material deliveries and equipment coordination -Ensure workers have proper PPE and follow safety protocols -Maintain organized project files and documentation -Help resolve minor field issues and coordinate solutions with superintendent -Assist in coordinating daily construction activities and trade schedules -Assist with completing safety documentation and incident reports -Build relationships with trade partners and project stakeholders -Participate in project meetings and pre-construction planning -Assist with punch list development and completion tracking -Support RFI and submittal processes -Help maintain clean and organized job sites -Support coordination between field and office teams -Help monitor subcontractor work for quality and progress -Communicate with subcontractors regarding schedules and project requirements -Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks

Powers & Sons Construction is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support field operations on commercial construction projects. This role provides hands-on experience in all aspects of jobsite management while working under the guidance of experienced superintendents. The Assistant Superintendent will help coordinate daily activities, ensure safety compliance, and learn the skills necessary to advance into a full Superintendent role. Communication and Learning -Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions -OSHA 10-Hour certification required or must obtain within 30 days -Capable of walking job sites, climbing ladders, and navigating uneven terrain -Proficiency with basic computer software and mobile technology -Basic understanding of construction methods and building processes -Valid driver's license and reliable transportation -Strong work ethic and willingness to learn -3+ years of construction experience -Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally -Associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management or related field preferred, or equivalent experience -Good communication and interpersonal skills -Must be able to work extended hours as project demands require -Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications -Learn construction methods, scheduling, and project management techniques
