Overview

Lead cost consultancy for highways projects, handling feasibility, procurement and client liaison.

Tasks

-Handling of contractual frameworks and standard form of contract. -Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed. -Conducting feasibility studies, advising on procurement strategies and contract selection, writing and undertaking procurement reports. Applying the value management techniques at the outset of a project. -Being a key interface with client, stakeholders and other consultants at all project stages. -Managing, estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan. -Identifying and acting upon ways to improve internal systems and processes. -Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates, products and hence improve the services provided to the clients.

What You Bring

-Knowledge of value engineering and life cycle costing. -Previous experience in a cost consultancy practice in a similar role. -Understanding of hot topic issues such as sustainability, social value, carbon reduction impacting public sector. -Strong understanding of industry best practice. -Sound knowledge and ability to undertake and advise on contract administration. -Professional membership i.e. MRICS/RICS. -Previous experience of managing people and risk management. -Previous experience working with highways projects/frameworks. -Cost planning, budgeting and estimating experience. -A degree in quantity surveying/cost management or equivalent.
