Tasks

-Will work with civil crew when not performing scaffold duties. -The scaffold journeyman builds, positions, and dismantles scaffold structures from wood, steel frames and steel poles according to sketches, blueprints, manufactures instructions and or company standards. -Inspect base surface for obstructions -Uses carpentry hand tools such as hammers, levels, squares, screw drivers, adjustable wrenches, hand and power saws, drill motors and pry bars -Measures boards, timbers, or plywood, using square, measuring tape, and ruler, and marks cutting lines on materials using pencil and scriber -Equipment Selection - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job. -Loads, transports and unloads material -Examines blue prints and specifications to determine dimensions of structure -Saws boards and plywood panels to required sizes -Assembles scaffold containing handrails, mid rails, braces, planks and toe boards -Examines, selects and gathers materials and tools

What You Bring

-Demonstrate ability to use whole numbers, fractions and decimals to add, subtract, multiply and divide and be able to accurately follow instructions -Ability to calculate the amount of material needed to erect a specific scaffold from he instructions given -Be motivated and work safely and productively -Be able to work at heights without fear -Ability to read measuring tapes, and to understand the use of levels -The employee must be able to use standard and/or metric rule to measure -2-3 years of Journeyman experience in craft -Be capable of listening and communicating with other supervision and employees -Use effective verbal and written communication skills -Ability to read and understand methods and procedures that represent on drawings, layout work, and just specification -Ability to figure materials for several different designs of scaffold -Understand and respond accordingly to all safety alerts, warnings, hazards, etc. -A valid drivers license is required to operate any motorized vehicle on the client's property.
