Tasks
This role is highly technical and influential, but it does not involve direct people management responsibilities. Instead, the focus is on leading the technical development of use cases, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing technical expertise to advance our Airside 4.0 initiatives. -Collaboration: Partnering with engineering, product management, and customer-facing teams to ensure solutions align with business objectives and customer needs. -Technical Leadership: Acting as a subject matter expert in Airside 4.0 technologies, guiding the organization’s technical direction in this area and mentoring other technical team members. -Algorithm Design: Creating and implementing algorithms to extract actionable insights from data and optimize airfield operations, such as improving safety, efficiency, and resource utilization. -Data Analysis: Collecting, processing, and analyzing data from airfield systems to uncover patterns, trends, and opportunities for improvement. -Simulation and Modeling: Developing simulation models to test and validate solutions, optimize system performance, and predict outcomes under various scenarios. -Use Case Development: Leading the development of Airside 4.0 use cases by understanding customer problems, analyzing data from our systems and sensors, and designing innovative solutions based on first principles.

What You Bring
The OpportunityWe are looking for a Data Science Leader – Airside 4.0 to drive innovation and solve critical airfield challenges through a data-driven approach. This role combines the expertise of a data scientist with the practical problem-solving of a systems engineer, requiring a deep understanding of airside systems, customer use cases, and the engineering principles behind our products. The ideal candidate will use their strong analytical skills, engineering knowledge, and problem-solving mindset to develop and implement innovative algorithms, simulations, and solutions for Airside 4.0. -Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. -Proven experience in simulation and modeling techniques to test and validate solutions and predict system behavior under various conditions. -A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical field. A master’s degree or equivalent experience is a plus. -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and think critically. -Systems Understanding: Gaining a deep knowledge of ADB Safegate's products, including sensors, lighting, and guidance systems, and how they interact within the airfield ecosystem. -A minimum of 8–10 years of relevant experience in data analysis, algorithm development, system modeling, or engineering roles involving technical problem-solving. -First Principles Problem-Solving: Applying engineering and physics fundamentals to tackle complex, real-world airfield challenges and develop practical, scalable solutions. -Familiarity with sensor systems, IoT devices, and data collection/processing methodologies. -Strong knowledge of engineering and/or physics principles, with the ability to approach problems from a first-principles perspective. -An understanding of airfield operations and/or airport systems is highly desirable. -Proficiency in programming languages (such as Python or MATLAB) for data analysis, algorithm development, and simulation modeling.
