Tasks

-Oversee staffing plans, resource allocation, and workload balancing. -Build and lead a high-performing, self-sufficient electrical engineering team focused on efficient project delivery and client satisfaction. -Recruit, manage, and mentor electrical engineering staff, supporting team growth and professional development. -Represent WSB in client meetings, interviews, and technical proposal efforts. -Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence. -Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, IEEE, and all applicable interconnection and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements. -Troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering challenges with sound technical judgment. -Oversee and guide the preparation of detailed electrical design packages and system studies, including but not limited to short circuit, load flow, reactive power, harmonics, arc flash, grounding, insulation coordination, and transient analysis. -Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) for distributed generation (DG) and utility-scale energy projects. -Lead internal QA/QC processes to ensure technical accuracy and quality of all deliverables. -Engage directly with clients, utilities, AHJs, and other stakeholders to communicate technical concepts and ensure alignment. -Support performance management, goal setting, and team development initiatives. -Drive on-time, within-scope project execution through cross-disciplinary collaboration with civil, structural, geotechnical, environmental, and permitting teams. -Provide technical leadership throughout all project phases, from siting and permitting to detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning. -Contribute to pursuit strategies, scoping, and level-of-effort estimation for new projects.

What You Bring

-Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams. -Minimum of 10 years of experience in power systems engineering with emphasis on distributed generation (DG) and utility-scale renewable energy projects. -Strong written and verbal communication skills with client-facing experience. -Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in at least one U.S. state with the ability to become licensed in multiple states. -Expertise in NEC, NESC, IEEE standards, and utility interconnection requirements. -Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution. -Proficiency in electrical modeling and analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM, DIgSILENT, PSCAD, PSS/E, PowerFactory). -Proficiency with AutoCAD -Master’s degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering. -NABCEP certification or similar industry credentials. -This position may require occasional travel to project sites or client offices. -Experience with PVsyst, Helioscope, PVCase, SAM, or other PV modeling tools.
