Tasks

-Build front office tools to model trading opportunities as well as analyse pre-deal evaluation of risk and reward -Deliver pre-deal and structuring analysis -Reconcile exposure and be a link between Front office and partnering functions (Product Control, Finance and Front Office models) -Deliver bespoke market analysis through first-class interpretation of fundamental drivers (for example Asian/Chinese growth markets). -Innovation & Influence: Develop front office tools, craft pre-deal analysis, and pioneer solutions in one of the most exciting sectors of the global economy. -Global Impact: Influence decisions and strategies that shape the future of energy across continents -Short-term LNG Trading: Contributing towards P&L and cash delivery in the short-term through providing pro-active market trading analysis, bespoke insights into retail drivers (in particular China/Asia), coupled with excellent collaboration with key stakeholders across other front-office commodity functions in Centrica Energy -Assist financial trading analysis (options, derivatives and financial engineering techniques) and asset-backed trading in the LNG space -Interface with teams across Centrica Energy and Centrica, including Quant Analytics, Finance and Risk functions to develop the LNG Analytics modelling capability with a focus on maximising extrinsic value -LNG Business Development: Structured deals’ (e.g. Gas to Power) analysis, ‘new market’ (for example Chinese/Asian/new markets) and global trading trends and counterpart/competitor analysis for mid to long-term deal making. -Support development of a portfolio model in which the aggregate LNG Portfolio under management by Centrica (beyond the next two years) is understood and from which we can assess portfolio value and exposure -Perform market analysis particularly with respect to emerging markets (e.g. China and Asia) to identify target customers and understand the decision-making process. -Maintain systems and processes designed to ensure accuracy and ease of use for initial LNG deal valuation, deal structure recommendations and finally deal booking -Provide structuring analysis to LNG Business Developers; modelling their proposed transactions on a standalone basis while also demonstrating incremental portfolio value of these transactions -Produce insights on LNG pricing data, exposure, P&L and news.

What You Bring

-Experience in supporting commercial decision making (including PnL and hedging monitoring) in a commodity trading environment -Excellent interpersonal/team working skills -Excellent fundamentals modelling skills, in particular global LNG and gas markets - strong Excel and advanced modelling skills -Understanding of valuing, pricing and understanding the risk and optionality embedded in LNG transactions and related derivative positions -Commercially Rewarding: Directly drive business performance in markets where your insight and deal structuring skills will be highly valued and recognised -Experience of working in LNG Trading and within a wider energy trading environment, with exposure to Gas, Power and other commodities -Programming: Python (other programming languages a bonus, such as VBA, C++ and statistical packages) -Good communication/presentation skills -Experience of key support functions in trading, for example Market Risk or Finance would be an advantage -Experience of LNG Shipping and commercial LNG contracts -Analytical with strong attention to detail.
