Distribution Manager

Overview

Oversee warehouse operations, staff, safety, and distribution of building materials.

Tasks

-Maintain appropriate staffing based on our seasonal business - Work with Human Resources and Distribution Management for approvals and employee retention initiatives. -Respond promptly to all email and phone messages from your managers and other Departments. -Continuously evaluate ways to improve the accuracy and efficiencies of the warehouse and its operations. -Daily communication with all workers to ensure all the objectives for the day are met in a timely manner. -Lead and promote safety culture which aligns with Wausau Supply Co. core values. -Review and maintain all reports that are your responsibility. -Monitor and ensure operational metrics are achieved. -Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of equipment, buildings and grounds. -Material Handling for incoming materials – Oversee that incoming materials have been properly received and put away in preparation for the picking crew. -Shipping – to ensure that all daily orders have been routed and shipped. -Use the current reports to make management decisions and changes to staff and routes. -Ensure that all processes and procedures are followed to ensure Customer satisfaction. -Ensure good communication between Purchasing, Customer Service, Sales, Credit and all other Warehouses to ensure that customers commitments have been satisfied. -Maintain a positive and CLEAN work environment in conjunction with maintaining and enforcing all SAFETY procedures while ensuring warehouse team is following procedures as well. -Review delivery routes annually with the Transportation Director and Region Manager. -Perform Monthly and Yearly Performance reviews on all employees.

What You Bring

-Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and guidelines preferred but not required. -Excellent, data-driven analytical skills required. -Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. -Ability to work independently while demonstrating leadership skills that portray excellent teamwork mentality. -Regular communication with the Regional Distribution Manager and VP of Distribution. -Associates or Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Management, or Finance. Or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5 to 10+ years manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling experience. -Productivity within Warehouse (orders shipped, errors, transactions, etc.) -Excellent ERP systems skills -Ability to manage multiple demands while maintaining solid communication skills both verbally and especially by e-mail. -Problem solving and innovative solutions to eliminate obstacles. -Ability to stand/bend/walk for long periods of time. -3 to 5+ years manufacturing or warehouse leadership and supervisory experience. -Logistics and transportation management experience to support a fleet of tractor/trailers preferred but not required. -Dynamic self-motivation and ability to work a flexible schedule. -Drivers performance (miles per gallon, idle time %, etc.) -Ability to maintain positive moral within the workforce. -Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Office 365
