Overview

Design and deliver roadway engineering calculations, plans, and specs.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Works closely with other disciplines and on multi-discipline projects. -Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work within discipline. -Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided. -Aids in the coordination and productivity of project team members. -Responsible for development of discipline specific engineering project elements/deliverables such as reports, designs, and plans. -Prepares erosion and sedimentation control design. -Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineering project team members. -Performs quality control reviews of discipline - specific engineering project elements/deliverables. -Assist in the development of project specifications.

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience, or -Works effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment -Proficiency with MicroStation OpenRoads Designer -Transportation infrastructure design experience focusing on growth, sustainability, and positive impact on our environment and communities. -Strong understanding of GDOT Plan Development Processes -Experience in Construction, Staging, and Right-of-way plans. -Master’s degree in Engineering and 3 year of relevant experience, or -Professional Engineer (PE) registration in GA or TN -Ability to develop discipline-specific engineering project elements/deliverables. -Urban roadway design experience, including managed or express lanes, pedestrian and bicycle facilities -Roadway drainage design on DOT, managed lanes, and city streets. -PhD in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience
