Tasks

 Incorporate sustainability, digital integration, and experiential design elements into projects.  Research and integrate global best practices in retail design, placemaking, and customer experience.  Lead concept ideation for key spaces (common areas, façade, atriums, amenities, signage, wayfinding).  Liaise with architects, consultants, contractors, and tenant design teams to ensure consistency with design guidelines.  Oversee design development from concept through schematic, design development, and construction drawings. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the design vision, quality, and execution of the retail center. This role requires a deep understanding of retail environments, customer experience, architectural detailing, and coordination with consultants, vendors, and stakeholders. She/he will ensure that design intent aligns with the brand positioning, commercial strategy, and operational efficiency of the retail center.  Collaborate with leasing, operations, and marketing teams to integrate commercial and customer requirements into design.  Review and coordinate architectural, interior, MEP, façade, landscape, and signage designs to ensure integration.  Develop and refine the design vision for the retail center in alignment with the overall business and brand strategy.  Monitor material selection and detailing to ensure durability, functionality, and premium aesthetics.  Manage design deliverables, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality.  Review tenant design submissions and provide approvals/feedback.  Ensure compliance with local building codes, accessibility standards, sustainability benchmarks, and fire & life safety norms.  Create design guidelines, standards, and reference frameworks for both base building and tenant fit-outs. working with top architects, designers, and retail brands. The Design Specialist will directly influence how customers experience the space, contributing to a benchmark project in the industry.  Conduct periodic site inspections to validate adherence to design intent.

What You Bring

 Strong knowledge of building codes, retail design standards, and tenant coordination processes.  Proficiency in design tools (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).  Innovative mindset with awareness of global retail and lifestyle trends.  Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.  Proven expertise in design coordination, detailing, and execution within large-scale developments.  12+ years of experience in retail, commercial, or mixed-use design with a strong portfolio of executed projects.  Strong design sensibility with an eye for detail and aesthetics.  Excellent project management and coordination skills.  Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field (Master’s preferred).  Ability to balance creative vision with commercial and operational realities.
