IT Support Specialist

Overview

Tier 1/2 IT support, server & network admin, and project/vendor coordination.

Tasks

-Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, including VPN and wireless connectivity. -Propose and implement improvements in IT processes and infrastructure. -Monitor and apply security updates, antivirus, and system patches. -Handle warranty claims and ensure compliance with purchasing policies. -Assist with IT project planning, budgeting, and implementation. -Build and configure PCs and laptops per standard configurations. -Support and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure, including Cisco routers, switches, VLANs, WAPs, and firewalls. -Manage virtualization platforms (Hyper-V), backups, and disaster recovery procedures. -Administer and maintain Windows Server environments (2016+), including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy. -Support local applications and user access control. -Maintain network documentation and dashboards for proactive monitoring. -Use ServiceNow to manage and resolve help desk tickets. -Provide 2nd-level support for desktops, laptops, engineering workstations, printers, and mobile devices. -Coordinate with vendors and consultants for hardware/software procurement and support. -Document solutions and contribute to knowledge base articles.

What You Bring

-Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. -5+ years of experience in IT support and systems administration. -Experience with Intune/SCCM is a plus. -Experience with backup systems, storage solutions, and virtualization. -Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and server technologies. -Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience. -Experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint is a plus. -Good intercultural awareness and adaptability. -Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as crawling under desks or climbing ladders. -Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users. -Proficiency in Cisco networking, including routers, switches, and wireless controllers. -Experience in a multi-site, enterprise IT environment preferred. -Familiarity with ITIL practices and ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems. -Occasional travel to remote sites and between local offices (up to 20%). -Excellent verbal and written communication.
