Overview
Design and develop safe, compliant electrical power systems for electrified aircraft.

Tasks
-Preparing technical documentation, such as system drawings, specifications, and operational guidelines. -Collaborating with other engineers and professionals on projects that involve electrical power systems. -Develop and manage requirement specifications. -Conducting system tests and inspections to ensure operational effectiveness and safety. -Drives the use of tools such as DFMEA, DFT and DFM design techniques to ensure development of robust design specifications, design guidelines, model and drawing detailing, design validation plans that produce reliable and sound design solutions. -Developing project cost estimates and timelines. -Assessing the load requirements of different systems and determining the power supply capacities for existing and future demands. -Designing and analyzing power systems to ensure stability, reliability and resiliency (safety). -Work with commercial and product management teams to generate technical proposal, estimating development time and cost (NRE), pricing and overall solutions to meet customer’s RFQs and requirements. -Support Manufacturing with design related issues, concessions, and Engineering Change Requests. -Ensuring that all electrical systems are following current regulations and safety standards. -Interface with manufacturing and quality assurance personnel in establishing quality requirements for power supply products. -Aid in generating technical papers, technical articles, patent disclosures, and technical discussions under the guidance of more experienced engineers. -Generate reliable, cost effective, power supply design solutions that meet or exceed the needs of customer applications as well as comply with all applicable governing regulatory standards (UL, CE, AS91000/ISO, MilStds, DO-160 etc.). -Simulating system performance under different operating conditions to predict the occurrence of potential problems and failure modes. -Conducting research and implementing new methodologies to enhance power generation and distribution processes.

-Individual must be capable of writing technical documents such as test procedures, test reports, and patent disclosures, technical proposals. -Achieve familiarity with the products of Eaton common to this activity and study the engineering and products of competitors. -Excellent facilitation skills, project management skills, and drive for results. -Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university or equivalent. -This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen. -Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills -Demonstrated experience in full life-cycle development, verification, and certification preferably in aerospace (experience with design assurance levels) -Need excellent written and verbal communication skills -Good organizational skills both written and verbal. -Demonstrated ability to manage time and project schedules -Ability to analyze data and system performance to make informed decisions. -Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and explaining technical concepts to non-engineers. -Previous Aerospace experience. -Excellent organizational & communication skills are important as the role will require working on multiple projects simultaneously, mostly in a technical role and involve communicating across, upwards and downwards within the organization. The role will entail close working relationships with other functions within the Aerospace organization at various locations within the USA, Canada and UK, in addition to support functions in Pune, India. -Understanding of aerospace standards & electrical aircraft systems is desirable" -Hands on hardware development and troubleshooting experience -Previous experience performing electrical development tasks like system architecture design / analysis and circuit design / analysis to ensure compliance of all functional, performance, and environmental requirements. -Strong problem-solving abilities to address complex electrical issues and optimize system performance. -5+ years minimum experience in power system design and protection development including in depth understanding of electrical circuits, power generation, transmission, and distribution networks. -Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple projects and tasks efficiently. -Background in, Aerospace Military Stds 461, 704 etc,, DO-160 stds UL compliance requirements are preferred -Previous experience/ knowledge and proficiency in computer simulation and modeling software (PSCAD and Matlab/Simulink is required, ETAP, PSS/E desirable). -Candidate must currently reside within 50 miles from designated posted Eaton location.
