The Role

Overview

Assist with MEP commissioning tasks, field reviews, reports, and data analysis for projects.

Tasks

-Assist with ensuring that all systems and equipment are functional tested. -Read and review mechanical and electrical drawings. -During the internship program, interns will tour various construction job sites and gain exposure to the industry. -Prepare analyses from collected data. -Assist with reviewing contractor submittals, shop drawings, and requests for information. -Assist with in-field review of the HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems for new construction and renovation projects. -Set up and help maintain project database files and records. -Confer with project managers during planning, design, and construction phases. -Work alongside technical staff assisting with field observation work, preparing detailed field visit reports, and documenting project issues through resolution. -Prepare reports and document project activities and data.

What You Bring

-A valid driver's license and good driving record required. -Must be able to work in a high-paced environment. -Pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -Must have reliable transportation to the office and project sites across the state. -Previous intern or co-op experience in commissioning, energy audits, or other engineering functions preferred. -Strong organizational skills. -Occasional travel to job sites or offices in New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts required -Possess solid problem-solving skills. -Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions. -Ability to work independently under general supervision and as part of a team to meet business objectives.
