Tasks

-Assist with the marketing of the firm’s capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationships with existing clients. -Drive the profitability and growth of projects. -Liaise with clients and agencies, subcontractors, and design teams on projects. -Assist team leader in securing repeat business from existing clients and identifying new clients. -Perform project development for complex projects, including finalizing scope of projects, preparing bid summaries, preparing project budgets and cost estimates. -Coordinate with other internal departments to meet project requirements. -Perform day-to-day project management on multiple projects to meet time and budget milestones. -Assist with marketing presentations and attend marketing meetings. -Oversee design engineers by providing technical guidance, mentorship, and thorough review of design deliverables to ensure quality and compliance. -Review project changes, pending or anticipated alterations to the contract, additional work requests, and all other factors, which may significantly affect staffing requirements or budget. -Review job cost sheets and prepare monthly billings. Ensure assigned projects stay within budget allocation. -Maintain close relationships with clients to resolve all project questions including technical requirements, completion requirements and billing inquiries. -Receive broad guidance from senior-level management relating to overall key objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters and general parameters for execution. Manage people and processes to ensure effective execution. Review work produced by staff for quality assurance. -Execute grading and drainage design, ensuring compliance with project specifications and municipal standards. -Design and draft water, sewer, and roadway infrastructure, integrating utility layouts and surface modeling for constructability and efficiency. -Provide technical assistance in the resolution of design problems including field investigation or inspections, detailed design work, detailed review of design computations done by others and general coordination of design aspects. -Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop detailed design plans, including the creation and refinement of TINs and 3D surfaces. -Prepare and direct preparation of designs, specifications, plans, estimates and reports for projects. -Lead programs and management of NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) permits for municipal clients, ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local, stormwater regulations. -Supervise the work of project personnel to ensure that it meets the highest professional standards. -Be responsible for the monitoring and management of work-in-process, billings, and outstanding accounts receivable collection efforts.

What You Bring

-Self-reliance and ability to operate independently with limited direction. -A proven track record of innovation, leadership and creativity. -Strong project management and communication skills. -Eight or more (8+) years of experience in civil engineering experience to include a minimum of three (3) years’ assistant project management experience. -Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Projects). -Mobility around a job/construction site to include walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, or kneeling and wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). -Thorough understanding of municipal codes and regulations. -High level of motivation and a problem-solving attitude. -Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, AES, CIVILD, WSPGW, PCSWMM, StormCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS preferred. -Strong sense of urgency in responding to constituents. -Outstanding client management skills. -Registered Professional Engineer (PE). -Ability to be a self-starter with strong marketing/business development skills. -Experience researching compliance matters, regulations, and standards. -Proven marketing and business development skills. -Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. -Ability to effectively participate as part of a project team. -Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline. -Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds. -The ability to collaborate and team well across offices and be able to facilitate agreements. -Experience with Open Channel & Detention Basin Modeling and Design. -Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder. -Land development and/or municipal engineering experience and skills. -Experience with HEC-RAS modeling and CLOMR/LOMR applications and processing. -Ability to effectively manage multiple time-sensitive tasks. -Ability to write reports, prepare narratives, development applications, submittal documents and response letters. -Effective verbal and written communication skills. -Maintain healthy client relationships and possess solid operational insight for driving projects and executing deliverables. -Ability to work both independently and within a team environment. -Basic understanding of financial reports and metrics. -Strong work ethic and commitment to quality. -Certified as a Qualified SWPP Developer (QSD) preferred. -Data analysis and interpretation skills. -Experience with Storm Drain Modeling and Rational Method Hydrologic Calculations. -Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and external partners. -High degree of discretion and ability to manage highly confidential information. -Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds.
