The Role

Overview

Operate heavy equipment to load, move, and assemble rail vehicle bogie components safely.

Tasks

-Read and interpret assembly drawings, bills of materials, and instructions, complete required documentation. -Provide training and work direction on loading/unloading methods, ensuring safety and proper use of PPE. -Collaborate with team members, coordinate activities, and communicate effectively to ensure efficient workflow and safety adherence. -Solve the world's most significant problems – Be part of exciting and innovative projects. -Assemble components and sub-assemblies according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions. -Efficiently load long assemblies, crates, and bundles onto flat cars or truck trailers following proper procedures. -Operate Straddle Carrier equipment to move long items from one location to another.

What You Bring

-Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure. -High school diploma or GED. -Proven experience operating heavy machinery and equipment, preferably in a manufacturing or transportation setting. -Occasionally lift and move at most 40 pounds. -Frequently required to work on elevated platforms. -Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and instructions. -Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. -1-2 years of experience in mechanical assembly, forklift operation, and/or similar machine equipment operation. -Frequently required to climb stairs, steps, and ladders -Safely use hand and power tools, with certifications for cranes, forklifts, etc. -Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety. -Frequently walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
