Automation Technician

Overview

Maintain, program, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and automation equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Test electronic or electrical circuits and connections -Make changes and additions to ladder logic using a variety of PLC software -Use Multimeter and other testing devices -Adjust or set mechanical controls or components -Update controls on existing equipment (may require the use of PLC) -Control and maintain access into PLC and other computer-controlled machinery -Use hand and power tools -Modify HMI displays

What You Bring

-Moderate to heavy physical effort required including sitting, standing, walking, kneeling. -Document and understand control schematics -Must have general understanding of the manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements and departmental procedures. -High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. -Must have proficient troubleshooting skills using a variety of PLC software -Must understand ladder and controls logic -Automation Direct -Machine specific knowledge in: -Prior experience in a manufacturing / industrial environment preferred.
