Tasks

You’ll work closely with customers and internal teams to resolve payment issues and maintain strong financial relationships. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join our HELM division finance team on a part-time basis (24 hours per week). Based on-site in Esh Winning, this role is essential to managing and maintaining the company’s credit control processes, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, minimising credit risk, and supporting healthy cash flow. -Maintain accurate records of debtor accounts and payment history -Monitor and chase outstanding customer payments via phone, email, and written correspondence -Set and review credit limits in line with company policy -Support month-end reporting and reconciliation of accounts receivable -Assess creditworthiness of new and existing customers -Resolve invoice disputes and queries in collaboration with sales and customer service teams -Perform reconciliation of bank accounts, managing incoming cash receipts and posting to the ledger -Prepare aged debt reports and escalate overdue accounts as necessary

What You Bring

-Strong Microsoft Excel skills -Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero) -Experience in credit control or accounts receivable -Strong communication and negotiation skills -Highly motivated and able to meet designated timescales -Knowledge of bank reconciliations and cash allocation postings -Process improvement mindset -High attention to detail and accuracy -Experience working in a fast-paced environment -Diligent, well-organised, and methodical -Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across the business -Familiarity with credit control procedures and relevant legislation -Capable of working independently and managing daily requirements
