Assist in preconstruction tasks like estimating, scheduling, and logistics planning.

Tasks

-Follows instructions to accomplish tasks assigned by senior staff. -Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks. -Cost Estimating – determine quantities utilizing a traditional 2D takeoff tool such as On-Screen Takeoff or 3D model quantities utilizing a program such as Assemble. -Logistics Planning – study characteristics of the project site to determine best approach to phasing, access, and laydown areas. -Meets required schedules while producing quality work. -Schedule Development – review project documentation to determine scope involved to assist in creating a preliminary project schedule. -Assist with development of a project prior to on-site construction activitiesCost Estimating – determine quantities utilizing a traditional 2D takeoff tool such as On-Screen Takeoff or 3D model quantities utilizing a program such as Assemble.Schedule Development – review project documentation to determine scope involved to assist in creating a preliminary project schedule.Logistics Planning – study characteristics of the project site to determine best approach to phasing, access, and laydown areas.

What You Bring

-Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or similar discipline, and must have completed at least 1 year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship. -Experience working for a large general contractor. -Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, and Outlook), as well as exposure to other construction-based computer programs. -Exposure to other construction-based computer programs. -Previous relevant internship experience.
