Support O&M of wind farms, ensuring safety, maintenance, and equipment readiness.

Tasks
-Assure that all operation and maintenance activities are performed in a safe manner consistent with policies and procedures established for the wind farm site -Assist with Balance of Plant procedures as needed, including substation and collection system maintenance -Safety- Promote safety for all at all times -Perform safety and other wind farm related tasks when assigned and fill in as back up to personnel at other RWE sites when necessary -(2) walk across small surface areas to access areas within wind turbines. -Assist with turbine maintenance including services, major component work and replacement, and troubleshooting -(1) work in closed and small swaying areas on top of and within wind towers -Assist in conducting acceptance and performance tests on systems and equipment following planned maintenance or outages -Identify energy isolation points and implement LOTO for protection

What You Bring
-Ability and willingness to travel to and from job sites as assigned -Wind Farm site location including work in and around energized wind turbine generators and balance of plant equipment (substation, pad mount transformers, etc.). The work will occur within an office, warehouse, in turbines and outdoors -Intermediate understanding of electromechanical relay, hydraulic accumulator, linear transducer, and electrical motor -Initiative - Able to work with minimum supervision and make decisions for all issues related to his/her discipline(s) with limited and/or available information -Must be able to climb wind towers on a daily basis. During this task, employee must be able to open/close hatch doors and identify potential safety hazards. -Intermediate PC/Laptop skills -Ability to follow standard work instructions -Knowledge of power electronics, motor drives, AC/DC converters -Ability to work safely in extreme environments (hot sun, cold, etc.) -Minimum 2 years of work experience in operations and/or maintenance in power generation, transmission and/or distribution required, with at least 1 year of experience in wind turbine experience -Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and repairs of electromechanical systems -High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Sciences or related field from an accredited school preferred -(Vestas, GE, Acciona, Nordex) Wind Turbine Experience preferred -Ability to read, interpret, and follow electrical, mechanical, & hydraulic circuit drawings -Ability to walk, climb, and stand extensively during the work day -Ability to work independently and as part of a team -Ability to push/pull/lift tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. -Unrestricted driver license in good standing -License or Certification experience substitutions include Current Journeyman, Current Master Elecrician License, and Wind Tech Certificate -Military experience in a technical field (electrical, electronics or mechanical) -Knowledge of computer network communication protocol and theory of operation is desired -Ability to create & save documents and spreadsheets in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and utilize Teams for meetings -Good communication skills and must value being part of a team -Alternatively 2 year or 4 year college degree from an accredited school (other than correspondence or on-line) in a technical science like engineering, physics, power, or closely similar -Ability to understand and communicate root causes required -Must be able to maintain a personal weight limitation of 270 lbs. -Willing to relocate to within 1 hour drive of site -Ability to work within tight deadlines -Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities -Must be able to balance to: (1) work in closed and small swaying areas on top of and within wind towers (2) walk across small surface areas to access areas within wind turbines. -Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team -Knowledge of and experience with the use of hand and power tools -Knowledge of environmental and safety policies and procedures -Ability to perform basic rigging & signaling -Knowledge of JHA/LOTO/Tailboard forms
