Tasks

The responsibilities of the role are to ultimately provide visible and technical HSE support to the operational requirements of CitiPower, Powercor and United Energy. This includes co-ordinating, implementing and maintaining our HSE systems to effectively and efficiently support the safe and sustainable delivery of work. The role will assure that all business HSE and Work Practice systems, processes and requirements are implemented to a high quality and opportunities for continual improvement are optimised. -Engage leaders and employees in the implementation of HSE programmes and initiatives -Ensure gaps and actions are discussed, recorded, addressed and closed out to a satisfactory level -Support and provide day-to-day technical and HSE advice to operations. Including input on key issues, critical risk controls, hazard reports, health and wellbeing -Provide direction on compliance requirements with HSE regulations, codes of practice and standards -Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders -Leads incident investigations to ensure quality incident management outcomes -Engage with operational, project and contractor stakeholders to manage HSE risks, assure compliance and foster a positive HSE culture. -Identify industry leading practices to effectively reduce risk in the workplace -Plan and facilitate assurance activities. Including risk assessments, work practice compliance assessments, site inspections, audits, observations and interactions

What You Bring

This role covers the Colac, Warrnambool, Horsham, Ballarat, and Maryborough regions and can be based in any of these locations. Regular travel across the regions is required. A vehicle package is included. -A technical background, including knowledge of OHS, Environment and duties of a PCBU through applicable legislation, acts, regulations, codes of practice and standards -Demonstrated experience as a safety professional within the energy industry (or any other high-risk industry, for example: utilities, construction, oil & gas, chemical processing, manufacturing) -Tertiary qualification in Health and Safety and/or Environment – or similar -MS Excel and SAP skills would be advantageous -Exposure to HSE specific reporting & analytics software programs
