Senior Power Systems Engineer

Overview

Conduct bulk power system studies, lead analyses, and mentor engineers for grid planning.

Tasks

-Perform high-level bulk power system studies using various power system software such as PSS/e, PSCAD, Aspen, and TARA. -Develop mitigation plans for identified constraints and system issues. -Interact with clients to seek input and address their needs and concerns regarding the project(s) under study. -Work with industry leaders -Support business development activities. -Lead process improvement efforts to enhance efficiency. -Lead and mentor electrical engineers in performing power system steady state, short circuit, and dynamic & transient stability analyses. -Review and develop transmission planning study methodologies and processes. -Ensure timely completion of assigned projects while meeting all quality and budget objectives. -Conduct advanced and specialized studies of the power grid, such as Sub-synchronous Resonance studies.

What You Bring

-5+ years professional experience as a Power Systems Engineer. -Experience with power systems software such as PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, and TARA. -Proven team player skills with ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships. -Demonstrates a strong commitment to producing high-quality report and deliverables, taking full ownership and pride in work -Experience automating/programing in Python -Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with respect to explaining technical matters. -Experience performing power system impact studies such as Dynamic Stability, Load Flow, Steady State, Short Circuit
