Junior Bridge Drafter/Technician

Overview

Create engineering bridge drawings using AutoCAD/MicroStation under guidance.

Tasks

-Printing/plotting of drawings. -Updating drawings with as-built data. -Working closely with engineers and other designers to ensure coordinated designs. -Working to tight project schedules while ensuring quality of project deliverables. -Establishing and maintaining cooperative and productive relationships with all team members. -Producing deliverables with some guidance from more experienced Drafters/Technicians. -Interpreting and ensuring conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures. -Preparing drawings for site inspections -Compiling data and performing dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings. -Under the general direction of a higher-level Designer/Drafter, takes sketches and formalizes them into working engineering drawings according to established standards and procedures. -Converting survey points in point form by others to Raster

What You Bring

-Good working knowledge of MS Office and Excel. -3D CAD modeling experience an asset. -GPS field collection and/or survey experience using Total Station or similar survey grade equipment would be considered an asset. -Good organizational and planning skills. -Understands how to read design drawings. -2-year technical degree or certificate of completion in CAD design from an accredited technical institution. -Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a larger team. -A sense of initiative, attention to detail and quality of work. -Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and MicroStation. -Valid driver’s license and own vehicle. -Be a member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) -Effective analytical and problem solving skills. -Excellent communication both verbally and in writing. -Experience working on bridge and/or structural projects. -2+ years of relevant experience. -French-English bilingualism
