The Role

Overview

Applies paint to interior and exterior surfaces using various techniques and equipment.

Tasks

-Maintains a clean work area. -Maintain Company information in a confidential manner. -Builds scaffolding according to safety regulations. -Sustain interpersonal relationships, which encourage openness, candor, and trust, both internally and externally. -Prepares surfaces to be painted, which may include removing prior finishes through chemicals, grit blast, or other methods. -Maintain initiative to preserve the flow of work. -Complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner. -Complies with chemical and waste storage and disposal regulations and best practices. -Applies paint to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, sprayers, airbrushes, stencils, and other tools. -Identifies and orders appropriate paint colors and finishes, mixing if needed. -Masks, removes, covers, or otherwise protects furniture, hardware, trim, and other nonpainted surfaces. -Individuals may occasionally be exposed to hazardous conditions, high places, and /or hazardous equipment. May work with or around chemicals that require knowledge of a safety data sheet. -Measures area to be painted; determines quantity and type of paint to use for the project. -The position occasionally may require lifting heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) and performing strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.

What You Bring

-Must have adequate balance and ability to climb ladders and scaffolding. -Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. -Must be able to climb, reach above shoulder height, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl frequently. -Ability to follow instructions and provide consistent work. -Performing this job requires frequent use of hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools, or controls. -Act independently and originate new approaches to problems. -Motivated and works well with others. -Completion of a formal apprenticeship program, previous experience, or on-the-job training required. -OSHA30 preferred. -Individuals may need to ride or drive in a vehicle for 2 or more hours at a time depending on position. -Must be able to sit, talk, hear, and stand frequently throughout the day. -Performs basic stencil and line work, which may include painting lines on factory floors, parking lots, and other surfaces. -This position requires working in varying environments including indoors and outdoors. -Prolonged periods of standing and painting. -Ladders, paintbrush, paint roller, drop cloth, masking tape, paint sprayer, caulking gun, putty knife, sandpaper, scaffolding. -Demonstrate informative and professional assistance when working with customers, vendors, and team members.
