Tasks
MEP Assurance Manager reviews and comments on the MEP content of the RIBA Stage-2 Report for inclusion in the end of stage Assurance Report MEP Assurance Manager attends and participates in RIBA Stage 4 design development meetings MEP Assurance Manager attends and participates in RIBA Stage 3 design development meetings MEP Assurance Manager reviews and comments on the MEP content of the RIBA Stage-3 Report focusing on appropriateness of the proposed MEP solution, highlighting alternative options, if any, for consideration by the Employer. Commentary to be included in the end of stage Assurance Report MEP Assurance Manager attend concept design development meetings as required The MEP Client Assurance Manager will act on behalf of the client’s delivery team, providing independent assurance, challenge and professional oversight throughout the full project and programme lifecycle. The role will hold key service partners to account, promote best practice, and support successful delivery across multiple projects within the estates programme. -Attend programme reviews, stakeholder meetings and cross-partner workshops to ensure alignment, sharing of information and issue resolution. -Ensure compliance with national design standards, governance and assurance gateways before progression through key milestones. -Act as a trusted advisor to the client team, reviewing project strategies, pipelines and objectives to ensure value for money and optimised outcomes. -Build strong collaborative relationships across the programme delivery team, championing a partnering approach with internal and external stakeholders. -Act as escalation point for matters relating to statutory approvals and consents, recommending action plans and mitigations where required. -Serve as the first point of escalation for issues unresolved at project, design, or supply chain level, coordinating responses and proposing resolutions or mitigations. -Maintain a summary Portfolio Risk Register and programme tracker, monitoring progress against key milestones and reporting to the core client team. -Support client-side Project Managers with expertise, challenge and strategic guidance across all stages of the project lifecycle. -Lead or contribute to regular portfolio performance reviews, including project “deep dives” to identify risks, early warnings, delays or cost escalation. -Oversee and provide assurance across a portfolio of MEP-related projects within a national estates programme, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed standards. -Ensure that estates delivery programmes and individual project milestone plans remain aligned throughout the delivery cycle.

What You Bring
This position is ideal for an experienced MEP or technical estates professional who thrives in a strategic assurance capacity, offering challenge, guidance and governance across a diverse project portfolio. MEP Assurance Manager attends RIBA Stage 1 briefing meetings as required MEP Assurance Manager to attend on site at Works Completion by exception -Strong analytical, organisational and reporting skills. -Degree in Construction, Project Management, Property Management, Engineering, or relevant experience. -Proven experience in programme or project assurance, governance, or oversight-focused roles. -Professional memberships: RICS, CIOB or APM. -Experience within public sector estates environments, major capital programmes or large-scale refurbishment/fit-out programmes. -Strong background in MEP, estates, or technical project delivery within either consultancy, public sector, client-side or major contractor environments. -Hold a valid CSCS card (or equivalent) for the duration of the programme. -Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to challenge, influence and collaborate at all levels.
