The Role

Overview

Manage BIM coordination and fabrication process from design to construction.

Tasks

-Obtain and manage architectural, structural, and MEP models. -Drive the spooling and approval process for fabrication work orders (WOs). -Identify project schedules and understand unique project delivery methods (design-build, design-assist, etc.). -Gain a comprehensive understanding of the awarded project and all available documentation. -Create, maintain, and gain approval for fab plans based on project key plans. -Walk the site regularly to monitor project status and provide scheduling input. -Act as the primary liaison between fabrication and construction teams. -Set up internal kickoff meetings and coordinate initial team onboarding. -Ensure prompt communication via phone, email, and meetings. -Take ownership of project success, thinking proactively and creatively to solve emerging challenges. -Maintain and review pipe spec sheets and submittal logs in collaboration with procurement. -Track fabrication progress and maintain accurate documentation in the fab tracking sheet. -Coordinate with the Data/Technology Manager on file-sharing platforms and processes. -Lead and facilitate project coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders. -Adjust fabrication schedules based on field progress and coordinate recovery strategies as needed. -Assign and track WOs and ensure accuracy of site due dates. -Maintain detailed weekly progress notes and share updates with leadership. -Manage field drawing submissions and ensure they meet fab shop requirements. -Develop and maintain coordination schedules and ensure integration into master schedules. -Ensure consistency in naming conventions and formatting of fabrication schedules. -Determine coordination responsibilities, manage scopes, and schedule scope review meetings with subcontractors. -Conduct and review clash detections regularly; provide issue resolution strategies.

What You Bring

-OSHA 10 -Minimum of High School Diploma or GED equivalent. -Minimum of 5 years of experience in project coordination, preferably in construction or mechanical systems. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills. -Strong knowledge of design-build and design-assist processes. -Leadership skills. -Teamwork skills. -Trade school experience -Strong organizational skills. -Good basic computer skills. -Experience with Revit is highly preferred.
