Class A Laborer (CDL)

Overview

Perform underground telecom construction tasks, operate equipment, and lead small crews.

Tasks

-Operate, troubleshoot, and perform minor maintenance on construction equipment to ensure optimal functionality -Identify and address potential safety and operational issues proactively -Provide support to small workgroups to meet project goals on time and follow safety standards -Complete and verify detailed production reports to maintain accurate project records -Train and mentor Level I and II laborers to improve their skills and knowledge -Install and maintain complex underground telecommunications cable with precision and adherence to project specifications -Assist supervisors with project plans, material management, and task prioritization -Assist with site restoration efforts, including final grading and landscaping, to meet client expectations -Routinely: work alone in remote locations and in confined spaces with arms above shoulder level, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds

What You Bring

-To be 18 years of age or older -High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience -Ability to work safely in all weather conditions -Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse -Strong ability to work independently and provide support in team environments -3-5 years of experience in underground telecommunications construction or a related field -Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed -Authorization to work in the United States for this company -Ability to interpret blueprints, job plans, and technical specifications -A valid Class A commercial driver's license and reliable transportation are required. -Advanced knowledge of construction equipment operation and maintenance -Effective leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills -Perform highly skilled construction tasks such as loading, delivering, excavating, and operating advanced equipment for underground projects
