Tasks

-Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and cost analyses for packaging components -Evaluate packaging materials and technologies to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and support sustainability initiatives -Work with suppliers to source, qualify, and validate packaging materials and processes -Ensure compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., ISTA, ASTM, DOT, FDA, ISO) and customer-specific requirements -Conduct performance testing (drop, vibration, environmental, etc.) to ensure packaging integrity and compliance with specifications -Support continuous improvement initiatives related to packaging line efficiency, waste reduction, and ergonomics -Design and develop packaging for new and existing products, including primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging -Create detailed packaging drawings, specifications, and documentation using CAD and PLM systems -Collaborate with product design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure packaging supports production and logistics requirements -Conduct root cause analysis for packaging-related quality or logistics issues and implement corrective actions

What You Bring

-Ability to balance cost, performance, and sustainability in packaging solutions -Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant engineering tools -Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, ArtiosCAD) and testing protocols (ISTA, ASTM) -Detail-oriented with strong project management skills -Hands-on experience with packaging materials such as corrugated, foam, films, plastics, and metals -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills -Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred -Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and DFMA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly) is a plus -3+ years of experience in packaging design, testing, and validation in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred -Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities -Familiarity with sustainability standards, recyclability, and lifecycle cost analysis preferred
