The Role

Overview

Manage and deliver DOT/local roadway design projects as a senior project manager

Tasks

-Evaluate and adapt standard techniques and criteria to perform tasks for conventional projects -Keep clients, management, and other stakeholders informed regarding project status -Build and maintain relationships with clients providing the highest level of service, communication, and responsiveness to meet client needs -Travel to project sites to meet with clients, construction teams and/or other stakeholders (Typically does not require overnight travel) -Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of project assignments -Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of the engineering work -Provide support to project teams related to problem solving and overcoming obstacles to ensure successful and timely project completion within budgetary constraints -Prepare scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments -Serve as a project manager with responsibility for various local agency and/or INDOT roadway/highway design projects -Build and lead cross-functional project teams assigning tasks to team members that may include engineers, technicians and administrative staff -Work on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects. -Serve as a technical specialist for the organization in the application of advanced concepts, principles, QA/QC, and methods -Assist with proposals or funding applications

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering -Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Microstation -Strong communication skills both written and verbal -Registered Professional Engineer -8+ years of relevant experience working on DOT and/or local agency roadway design projects -Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint -Ability to work individually or as part of a team
