Laboratory Analyst I, Environment Testing

Perform microbiological analyses of environmental samples in a laboratory.

Tasks

-Responsible for ensuring the correct analysis is performed on all samples received into the laboratory. -Ensures that proper Quality Control/Quality Assurance tests are performed on all analyses for the day. -Input and review data entry from the bench sheets to the Laboratory Information Management System (currently Element). -Conducts all laboratory tasks as needed. -Responsible for running routine and non-routine, specialized microbiological analyses. -Work with MLT III and LD to order supplies necessary for the day to day running of the laboratory. -Interface with clients -Prepare media necessary for various analyses in the laboratory. -Assists MLT III to ensure that the QA/QC task schedule is completed as necessary. -Responsible for receipt of and proper logging in of all samples received into the laboratory. -Work evenings, weekends, holidays as needed on a rotating basis.

What You Bring

-This lab will relocate to our North Kingstown location within 2-4 months or so*****. -Must be able to perform light lifting and light housekeeping duties -Strong interpersonal skills -Good customer service skills. -Must be able to tolerate unpleasant odors -2 years’ experience in a microbiology laboratory performing various environmental analyses. -Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship -Proficiency in Microsoft Office. -Correctly utilizes all QC/QA documentation/logbooks. -An Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a related field. -A high school diploma or equivalent. -Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.
