The Construction Surveillance Technician’s primary function is to provide day to day security in support of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) & Special Access Program Facility (SAPF) construction efforts.

  • Follow and enforce customers’ Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Assesses, identifies and communications recommendations for improvements of policies, procedures, or systems.
  • Will photograph and continuously monitor the construction of secure spaces and document all steps in order to support final accreditation packets.
  • Perform miscellaneous administrative support functions as directed by the contractor site lead and/or the Senior Security Representative.
  • Shall conduct inspections of materials being delivered for utilization in construction of secure spaces.
  • Manages uniformed escort personnel and associated logs; assigns, trains, briefs site security duties and ensures timely reporting of security incidents to site lead.
  • Identifies threats, vulnerabilities, and potential risks.

  • Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) counts towards 3 years of experience.
  • Desired Experience: Knowledgeable on Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705 (on SCIFs and compliance with uniform IC physical and technical security requirements).
  • Bachelors or Associates degree or 1-2 years of related experience.
  • Must obtain CDSE STEPP ICD 705 Physical Security Construction Requirements for SAP course completion within the first 30 days of hire.
  • Maximum equivalent experience for SPED Certifications is no more than 5 years.
  • Complete additional safety training and/or certification as required by local site (i.e., OSHA 10 Construction Safety, OSHA Fall Protection and OSHA Confined Space) within the first 30 days of hire.
  • Special Program Security Certification (SPSC) counts towards 5 years of experience.
