Overview

Design stormwater & utility systems, model hydraulics, prepare reports, aid field inspections.

Tasks

-Support field work, including site inspections and monitoring during construction. -Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using modeling software (e.g., SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS). -Review contractor submittals and shop drawings. -Assist in the design and development of stormwater management systems and utility infrastructure. -Participate in project meetings and coordinate with stakeholders. -Develop and implement best management practices (BMPs) for stormwater control. -Perform site assessments and inspections. -Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, environmental scientists, and government agencies. -Prepare technical reports, plans, and specifications for stormwater and utility projects. -Support grant applications and funding proposals. -Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal water quality and utility regulations.

What You Bring

-Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. -Strong interpersonal and communication skills. -Knowledge of hydrology, hydraulics, and stormwater management practices. -Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. -Field experience in construction oversight and inspections is a plus. -Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. -Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives. -Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field. -1 to 3 years of relevant post education experience in water resources engineering. -Experience with stormwater modeling software and CAD/GIS tools. -Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek. -Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification preferred. -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. -Engineer in Training Certification. -Prior design experience.
