Tasks

-Assists Electrician with loading, transporting, unloading, and furnishing materials, tools and supplies. -Identifies and operates hand and power tools as needed, including air hammers, earth tampers, concrete mixers, small mechanical hoists, saws, power drills, skid steers, forklifts, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. -Signals Equipment Operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of equipment. -Performs other physical labor and responsibilities as assigned, including, but not limited to digging ditches and trenches, backfilling excavations, sealing structural components, measuring and recording areas, unloading and identifying materials, pouring concrete, setting braces to support the sides of excavations. -Identifies and follows safe working procedures. -Restocks worksite supplies and materials as necessary. -Controls passing traffic. -Identifies and stops unsafe work practices that present imminent danger to themselves and others. -Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate possible hazards, including rubble and debris.

What You Bring

-Some experience with hoisting and rigging -Knowledge of and ability to use power and hand tools, materials, and other equipment used on construction sites -2+ years of general construction experience, including exposure to utility work, earthwork, and/or concrete work -Demonstrate careful attention to detail and thoroughness -Knowledge of excavation and backfilling methods, practices, and procedures -Some experience with surveying and grading -Knowledge of safety practices and procedures specific to labor work, including OSHA standards -Ability to learn on the job -Ability to work overtime and some weekends as required -Ability to work effectively with a team -Ability to listen to and understand information and direction both verbally and in writing -Demonstrate energy and stamina to accomplish work tasks -Ability to communicate clearly -Must possess a valid driver's license -Ability to work with minimal direction -Ability to gain access to military installations and facilities if applicable -Ability to pass a required drug screen and background check
