The Role

Overview

Inspect and oversee municipal water, wastewater, and road construction projects in Winnipeg.

Tasks

-Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties. -Carry out surveys and measurements for quantity calculations -Complete surveys for the preparation of record drawings -Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning. -Schedule and conduct regular project meetings with the contractor and client -Assist with the preparation of the Project Construction Completion and Final Acceptance Certificate; and -Oversee daily on-site operations -Work closely with the Project Engineer and Project Manager, to ensure construction is in compliance with project specifications -Training of entry-level employees. -Candidate will be required to follow AECOM Safety Policies and promote them by example -Provide clarification of drawings and direction to the contractor, with remote support from the Project Engineer -Preparation and maintenance of daily work logs and other project documentation and reporting; -Liaison on site with contractor, client, other approving authorities, including addressing resident concerns

What You Bring

-Ability to read and interpret Civil construction drawings and specifications -Driving license and access to own vehicle -AutoCAD and Civil 3D is an asset -Attention to details is essential -Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position. -Familiar with materials testing procedures and construction coordination services -Experience working around mobile heavy equipment -4+ years of relevant experience in a field role on water infrastructure projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education -Construction methods of open cut, vertical trenching and trenchless technologies -1-2 years of surveying experience -8+ years of experience with with civil, water and wastewater construction projects -Strong written and verbal communication skills
