Senior BIM Technician, Rail

Overview

Design and deliver BIM models for rail projects using MicroStation, Revit, and related tools.

Tasks

-You will be working and supporting a range of infrastructure schemes to independently develop engineering drawings under the relevant standards. -Coordinate between the MEP team, Architecture team & other project stakeholders. -You will be expected to play a proactive part in the design process and be active on several projects at any given time. -Perform clash detection using Navisworks/iTwin. -Assists with establishing, maintaining and enforcing the use of proper CAD & BIM standards and procedures. -You will be contributing to all types of projects.

What You Bring

-You will be using 3D MicroStation, AECOsim / OpenBuilding Designer, ProjectWise, AutoCAD, Revit, ACC, Digital Twin and other engineering BIM software for the production and development of models and drawings. -You should be able to understand and communicate BIM and CAD standards for use on Rail engineering projects and possess an appropriate overall knowledge of the Internation rail infrastructure design sector. -Ability to utilise 3D MicroStation, AECOsim / OpenBuilding Designer, ProjectWise, AutoCAD and Revit in adherence to defined CAD & BIM standards to develop 3D modelling, layouts, labelling, dimensioning, sheet layout, design details and other appropriate design concepts. -Proven ability to work up drawings (plans, sections & details) from Engineers' basic sketches to full working drawings. -You will read and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures for Health and Safety including the H&S Policy, H&S Manual, and Local Procedures Manual. -Excellent working knowledge of MEP 3D MicroStation / AECOsim / OpenBuilding Designer / Revit (anyone 3D skillset is sufficient). -Good understanding and knowledge of Multi-Discipline Rail Projects -Ability to liaise with the design teams as necessary to coordinate design and drawing production. -Good written and verbal communication skills. -At least one key area such as a Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Civil Engineering (Public Health) with 3-6 years relevant work experience in Bentley/Autodesk BIM Software's. -UK Rail project experience and working knowledge of UK design standards. -Proficient in the use of standard office software. -Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (“BGV”) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India. -Good working knowledge of the relevant Metro Rail discipline. -You should be able to demonstrate some experience and working knowledge of relevant technical design guidance and standards, such as ISO 19650, Uniclass 2015 etc., -Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D BIM drawings and models to assist with investigations of engineering problems.
