Tasks

Testing, Troubleshooting, and Repair of Electrical Systems and Equipment Interpret Blueprints, Manuals, Schematics, and Procedures Installation of Electrical Systems and Components Maintenance and Monitoring of Equipment -Collaborate with other trades and companies on larger, more complex equipment and systems -Perform wiring and circuit distribution for commercial and industrial buildings/facilities -Mechanical control of make up air systems (MUAs) and heat recovery ventilators (HRVs) -Commercial building infrastructure powerMechanical control of make up air systems (MUAs) and heat recovery ventilators (HRVs)Line and control power for fabrication shop equipment such as band saws, drill presses, welders, and plasma cutters -Implement preventative maintenance programs -Source, select, and order replacement materials and parts for equipment -Provide on-site maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical equipment to prevent project delays -Install electrical infrastructureConduit, cable tray, wireways, and trenchesArmored cable and bussing -Test the insulation of electrical conductors (both medium and high voltage) -Install various electrical devicesPanel boards, distribution centers, and load centersTransformers, filters, and neutral grounding resistors (NGRs)Mechanical equipment such as exhaust fans, louvers, and pumps -Discover pathways for advancement within Northern Strands Group of Companies -Follow blueprint plans at all project stages, including architectural, mechanical, and one-line diagrams -Adhere to internal and client working procedures -Perform high-voltage cable installation, termination, and splicing -Test the condition of electrical material and equipment -Perform calculations and risk assessments -Size and install motors and motor controls -Line and control power for fabrication shop equipment such as band saws, drill presses, welders, and plasma cutters

What You Bring

-Strong math skills -Ability to work overhead and in awkward positions -Experience with any mechanical or carpentry capacity is considered an asset -Valid Driver’s License is required -Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) -Armored cable and bussing -Ability to handle competing priorities simultaneously -Strong organizational skills with attention to detail -Mechanical equipment such as exhaust fans, louvers, and pumps -Ability to safely lift heavy tools, equipment, and parts up to 50 lbs -Willingness to work at heights, outdoors, and underground (mine sites) -Initial work scope projected to be minimum 8 months; potential for continued employment/work placements after project completion -Conduit, cable tray, wireways, and trenches -Excellent time-management skills; ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines -Licensed Red Seal Electrician
