The Role

Overview

Assist driller with soil drilling, rock coring, sampling, equipment prep, and site cleanup.

Tasks

-Retrieve and log samples -Recognize and identify soil and rock types and material classifications -Clean / maintain equipment and perform site clean up -Assist Driller to load / unload augers and assemble / disassemble augers -Assemble / disassemble augers -Prepare tooling and supplies for the day’s tasks -Assist with the location of boring locations

What You Bring

-High School Diploma or equivalent -Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound -Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights -Class A CDL -Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time -2 or more years of relevant experience -Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures -Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance -Have a mechanical background and aptitude, with skills in operating and maintaining machinery -Ability to work over night hours and off shift -Past drilling experience is strongly preferred but not required - candidates with equipment operation experience will be considered -Ability to kneel and squat occasionally -Experience working in a physically demanding role including manual labor -Ability to travel up to 50% -Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record -Experience working in an outside environment -Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed
