Comply with occupational health and safety legislation, BV Group Policies and Procedures, Upstream Minerals Management System Policies and Procedures and ISO standards applicable.
Compile, review and interpret analytical results.
Halt production where necessary by Hold card and immediately report problems/issues to the Supervisor.
Act in a safe and professional manner and wear appropriate attire including the required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Perform and document quality checks at all stages of sample and material handling, halting production where necessary by Hold card and reporting problems/issues to the Supervisor.
Operate, maintain, and ensure calibration records are kept for equipment according to written instruction.
Prepare and document preparation of reagents according to written procedure without deviation.
Ensure fast and accurate processing of incoming samples in priority sequence.
Safely perform physically demanding tasks with repeated lifting
Responsible for overall maintenance of analytical instruments to generate the highest quality results, short term, and long term.
Operate analytical instruments (ICP-ES, ICP-MS, AAS, Leco and Gravimetric) to ensure fast and accurate processing of incoming samples in priority sequence.
Comply with occupational health and safety legislation, BV Group Policies and Procedures and ISO standards applicable to the instrumentation Technician position.

Education, Certifications, and Experience (required)
Previous experience in a mineral processing/analytical lab environment considered an asset.
Frequent bending, reaching, and crouching to manage sample vessels.
Ability to handle weights of up to 40 lbs for prolonged periods.
Keen attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
College or technical diploma with relevant experience in similar laboratory environment
Strong organizational and time management skills
