The Role

Overview

Assist field crew chief with various surveying services and equipment management

Tasks

-Works closely and coordinates with staff and site superintendents -Properly maintains and takes care of field equipment -Accurately assists crew chiefs with construction staking services -Responsible for stocking the company vehicle each morning (supplies & equipment) -maintain and electronically file legible field notes and sketches -Ensures timesheets are submitted accurately and on-time -Provides an accurate accounting of time spent on projects with descriptions for each time entry on a daily basis -Accurately assists crew chiefs with topogrphic, tree, and wetland surveys -Accurately assists crew chiefs with record drawings -This position works in the field assisting the field crew chief with houseline surveying services, topographic surveys, tree surveys, wetland surveys, boundary surveys, and ALTA surveys. -Accurately assists crew chiefs with houseline surveying services -Obtaining & reading information for the daily projects -Successfully upload and download calibration files to/from collector -Maintains a good relationship with clients and staff -Keeps supervisors informed of workload and any changes in project scope or additional services

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. -Accurately asissts crew chiefs with boundary and ALTA surveys -Understands and accurately uses all field survey instruments -Must possess high school diploma. -Valid driver’s license required -Available to work in the field in all weather conditions -Available to work overtime as needed to complete projects -Ability to make independent decisions with general framework -Must be fluent in the English language.
