Overview

Oversee all parts department functions, sales, inventory, staff and customer relations.

Tasks

-Work to motivate all parts personnel to provide high levels of customer service -Develop, Implement, and maintain a system of inventory control and monitor accuracy -Train employees in company policies, department procedures, job duties, operational safety, and to support the goals of the company and not just the individual department -Communicating goals daily, weekly, and monthly with Parts Department -Recommend solutions to customer needs, based on customer interests -Performs necessary duties for the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of the Parts Department and accomplishes sales objectives by implementing sales plans and supervising sales staff -Performs supervisory responsibilities to effectively manage personnel including interviewing, hiring, firing, training, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, disciplining, addressing complaints, and resolving problems -Identify, pursue, and maintain a constant flow of potential customers that meet or exceed established quotas through prospecting, networking, and referral activities -Responsible for the overall performance of the parts department. -Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, rental departments, and other internal salespeople, as well as your own lot and dealership check -Foster cohesion between the parts department and other dealership departments -Responsible for the preparation of annual marketing, budget plan, price levels and discount criteria for the area of responsibility -Establishes department goals and objectives, measures progress, analyzes results, and makes improvements as needed -Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading about new products -Maintains safe and secure environment by following safety and security standards and procedures, complying with codes

What You Bring

-Visual ability to observe employees in the workplace, analyze operations and detect situations of concern. -Ability to listen and communicate with customers, employees, and co-workers. -Must have knowledge of company and OEM products. -Mechanical aptitude and computer skills needed. -Ability to read and understand parts catalogs, service manuals and schematics. -Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. -Certification of ability to operate a forklift is required -Dexterity, hearing, and talking requirements are constant. -Minimum of five years’ experience in a Dealership and three years in management preferred. -A valid driver’s license is required -Employee is required to stand, walk, kneel, squat, crawl, bend, and twist. -Supervisory skills -A high school diploma and/or GED required. Combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skill, and abilities. -Ability to write customer orders. -Employee may have to climb and/or lift to and over 50 pounds. -Ability to perform basic mathematics and calculate percentages. -Mobility of walking, standing, and bending is frequent.
