Fuel Yard Operator - Federal Operations and Maintenance

Operate and maintain fuel yard, boilers, and turbine generator at biomass plant.

Tasks

-Operate power plant equipment in the field and in control room via DCS. Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, regulatory and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes. -Perform housekeeping duties, basic care routes and basic preventative maintenance of power plant equipment. -Drive a heavy equipment including, bob cat, forklift, front end loader, and Lull. -Responsible for daily operations including daily logs of fuel yard, boilers, and turbine generator. -Ensure environmental compliance in areas assigned. -Operate controls of a Stacker – Reclaimer.

What You Bring

-High School diploma or GED -Must be able to obtain and maintain an entry badge to the Savannah River Site -Basic computer skills including e-mail and data entry using Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel -Ability to work rotating shift on days, nights, weekends, and holidays -Ability to successfully complete position training and testing requirements -Power plant experience preferred -Ability to routinely climb ladders, walk up and down sloped ramps and work on elevated platforms -Minimum 2 years’ experience with operations and troubleshooting of industrial equipment -Valid Drivers' License issued by state of residence and in good standing -Ability to lift up to 75 lbs & transport equipment & tools in excess of 300 lbs
